# What You’ll Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
02 - 1 tbsp olive oil
03 - 1/2 tsp salt
04 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
05 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
06 - 1/2 tsp paprika

→ Vegetables

07 - 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
08 - 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
09 - 1 large red bell pepper, thinly sliced
10 - 2 tbsp olive oil

→ Sandwich Assembly

11 - 4 hoagie rolls or sub rolls
12 - 8 slices provolone cheese
13 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

# How To Make:

01 - Set oven temperature to 400°F to prepare for toasting rolls and melting cheese.
02 - Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onion and bell peppers. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly caramelized. Remove vegetables from skillet and set aside on a plate.
03 - Add remaining 1 tbsp olive oil to the same skillet. Place sliced chicken in the pan and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.
04 - Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the cooked chicken. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through and blend flavors.
05 - Slice each hoagie roll lengthwise, keeping one edge attached like a hinge. Spread softened butter on the cut sides. Arrange rolls butter-side up on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven for 3–4 minutes until lightly golden.
06 - Distribute the chicken and vegetable mixture evenly among the toasted rolls. Place 2 slices of provolone cheese on top of each sandwich.
07 - Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven for 3–4 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly. Serve hot.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The way the cheese melts into every nook of the chicken and vegetables makes each bite impossibly satisfying
  • You get that deli sandwich vibe at home, and the leftovers reheat surprisingly well
02 -
  • Don't rush the vegetable step—that 8 to 10 minute cook time is where the magic happens
  • Keeping the rolls attached on one side prevents all your fillings from falling out as you eat
03 -
  • Slice your chicken when it's slightly frozen—it's so much easier to get those thin, even strips
  • Use a sharp knife and keep your fingers curled under for safe slicing every time
