Chocolate Pretzel Trees (Print)

Salty pretzel rods coated in creamy chocolate and topped with festive sprinkles for a delightful holiday treat.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Base

01 - 18 salted pretzel rods

→ Coating

02 - 7 oz semisweet or milk chocolate, chopped
03 - 3.5 oz white chocolate, chopped (optional, for decoration)

→ Decorations

04 - 2 tbsp assorted sprinkles or colored sugar
05 - Mini candy stars or pearls (optional, for tree toppers)

# How To Make:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and create an easy cleanup workspace.
02 - Melt the semisweet or milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water (double boiler) or in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until completely smooth and glossy.
03 - Dip approximately two-thirds of each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, using a spoon to help coat evenly. Swirl gently to create a tapered tree-like shape, then tap off any excess chocolate.
04 - Place dipped pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to prevent touching while the chocolate sets.
05 - While the chocolate remains wet, drizzle with melted white chocolate in zigzag patterns if desired, then immediately sprinkle with assorted sprinkles and place a candy star or pearl on the top of each tree.
06 - Allow the trees to set at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes until the chocolate completely hardens.
07 - Once the chocolate has fully set, carefully remove the trees from the parchment paper and serve immediately or package individually as gifts.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • These come together in under 30 minutes but look like you spent all afternoon in the kitchen
  • The salty sweet combination is absolutely addictive and nobody can eat just one
02 -
  • Work in small batches so the chocolate does not harden before you can decorate
  • If chocolate becomes too thick, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to thin it out
03 -
  • Keep pretzels in the wrapper until ready to use so they stay fresh and crisp
  • Room temperature chocolate sets with a nicer shine than refrigerated chocolate
